PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTE

The school is an important observatory for understanding the needs, resources and difficulties of the new generations, education is the basis for the progress of our future societies and for this reason we must be careful in the design of spaces and ways of living the new school. The shape chosen for the development in plan has countless meanings. The available built volume is bent to create an embrace towards the city and rests on the existing slope of the lot. The shape recalls a magnet, a building attracting countless functions and activities that can be the fulcrum of the future city for the growth and development of the community. The fulcrum of the project is represented by the internal courtyard, a natural meeting place for users and for the community. The new school, as mentioned, adapts to the terrain and in doing so creates three levels that are distinguished by function and use at different times of the day. As you can see there are two squares in the project: the first is in front of the entrance where the library also overlooks on level zero. Going forward and going down you enter the heart of the project which is the square on level -2. All the offices and recreational areas of the school overlook this area, but above all it is the meeting point for all extracurricular activities such as the gym and thematic laboratories. The plan is designed to have the connective tissue at the center of the circumference that divides the area intended for classical teaching in two, such as the classrooms towards the outside, while the laboratory activities and offices overlook the internal area. There are relaxation areas along the entire internal circumference where students can stop to study, read, and socialize during various moments of the day. The main structure is made up of wooden beams and pillars with steel joints, and rests entirely on a foundation with inverted beams on multiple levels made of reinforced concrete. The roof is made up of a dense succession of modular elements in laminated wood placed radially, on which the ventilated wooden package and the metal framework that supports the photovoltaic panels on the roof rest. The structural wood guarantees safety in terms of resistance, stability and durability.
